Beatrice Gibertini
I am a PhD candidate in Development Economics at the Centre d'économie de la Sorbonne and in Development Anthropology at VU Amsterdam as part of the ADAPTED Joint Doctorate Program.
I conduct data-intensive research on natural resources, gender and development in Africa using both quantitative and qualitative methods. My research focuses on the social and economic impacts of large-scale mining on women's livelihoods.
Additional works include research on the role of large-scale mining in shaping migration patterns in Africa, and artisanal mining formalization policies in Liberia.
Prior to my PhD, I have worked as a Research Assistant for the Development Economics Research Group at the University of Copenhagen, supporting the implementation of the MSME Panel Survey in Myanmar.
I'm on the job market, considering opportunities for policy-relevant research related to extractive industries.
